Test Your Knowledge of Arizona Boating Safety Rules

A fun day of adventure on Lake Pleasant and Scorpion Bay awaits, but are you aware of Arizona Boating Safety Rules?

Test your knowledge by trying out some of the questions on the Arizona Game and Fish boating safety and regulations quiz:

  • What does an orange and white buoy with an orange circle mean?
  • In Arizona, how old do you have to be to operate a personal watercraft by yourself?
  • How many people does it take to legally water ski in Arizona?
  • What direction is travel on Arizona lakes?
  • What ages of children must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) whenever the boat is underway?

See how you do on the quiz. If you don’t pass with flying colors, maybe a boating safety course is in order.

Answers to these questions are here:

Although Arizona does not currently have a requirement for mandatory boater education, by taking a safety course, boaters may be eligible to save on their boat insurance.

The Arizona Boating Safety Education Certificate (also known as the Arizona boating license or boaters license) is proof that you have met the mandatory boat safety education requirements for the State of Arizona. The Arizona Boating Safety Education Certificate is good for life and does not need to be renewed.
