The Drowning Prevention Coalition of Arizona has partnered with the Ryan Thomas Foundation and Arizona Game and Fish Department for a life jacket loaner program. The program makes life jackets available lakeside at 18 kiosks statewide, including at Lake Pleasant, adding more kiosks and allowing boaters to use a life vest from the loaner station and return it at the end of the day.
Various life jacket styles are available for almost any boating activity, but the best life jacket is one you will wear. Modern life jackets are more comfortable, lightweight, and stylish than the bulky orange style most boaters know. Life jackets that use inflatable technologies are cool and comfortable. Many inflate automatically when immersed in water.
No matter what activity or style chosen, the most important thing is this: Be responsible and always wear a life jacket while boating.
Life Jackets at Scorpion Bay Boat Rentals
Scorpion Bay at Lake Pleasant provides complimentary life jackets with all boat rentals. Whether it’s pontoon boats, sport boats, kayaks or water toys, life jackets are available for safety during all water adventures.
Lake Pleasant Regional Park offers life jackets at two boat launching ramps: 4-Lane at the North Entrance and 10-Lane Boat Ramp at the Main Entrance. If you get to the lake and discover you don’t have a life jacket, there are some available at the loaner stations. The Arizona Game and Fish Department has worked hard to promote boating safety.
