February Fishing Update from Reel ‘em In Adventures

Guest blog by Warren Risberg

Water Temp at 6pm on 2/9/20 = 55.6
Fishing Times: 1pm to 6:30pm - Sunset
Water Level 88.5% Full

The good news, each of our trips in early February we have caught fish. However, it has been slow waiting in between bites, with very cold outside temperatures that only warm up between 2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. At this time we’re seeing more aggressive bites. I’m also seeing good bites for the last 45 minutes of the sunset since the beginning of February and they have been consistent during this time frame.

Temperatures are expected to warm up on the 20 of the month and into March which will mean the fishing season will kick into high gear. Unlike last year’s unusually long winter, we look to have a great spring season as warmer weather is on its way and water levels are currently looking good for the bass to spawn next month.

Currently, in some areas the water clarity is crystal clear with 15 feet visibility. This is going to be a key element to sight fish large-mouth bass sitting on spawn beds the end of this month, depending on Mother Nature. When this begins Lake Pleasant fishing will crank up ten-fold!

So be patient, another great spring fishing season is almost upon us. Thank you to all the new fisherman and friends I’ve been able to meet over these last few trips out. Until Next time…Tight Lines.
