For dinner, their talented chefs create exceptional specials using the freshest ingredients. You’ll find unique weekend specials for dinner each week.

Look for these healthy ingredients as you dig in to enjoy your next meal:

Fruits

Fruits are an excellent source of essential vitamins and minerals. They’re high in fiber and provide a wide range of health-boosting antioxidants, including flavonoids. Eating fruits and vegetables can reduce a person’s risk of developing inflammation, cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Our grill serves a delicious Strawberry and Spinach Salad, incorporating fruit, vegetables and roasted almonds.

Vegetables

Carrots, spinach, broccoli and brussels sprouts are just a few of the most nutrient-dense vegetables that strengthen the immune system. They’re perfect for a variety of dishes, including salads, soups, smoothies and sandwiches. Additionally, mushrooms have long been touted for their medicinal and nutritional qualities. Eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables can reduce your risk of some mental health conditions such as depression, while eating foods that are high in sugar and saturated fat may increase your risk.

Nuts

Research has found that frequently eating nuts lowers levels of inflammation related to heart disease and diabetes. The five healthiest nuts are walnuts, pistachios, pecans, almonds and peanuts. They’re delicious snack food—inexpensive, easy to store and easy to pack when you’re on the go. One drawback is that some nuts may be high in calories, so it’s important to limit portions.

Whole Grains

Whole grains offer a “complete package” of health benefits, unlike refined grains, which are stripped of valuable nutrients in the refining process. Eating whole grains is associated with various benefits, including a lower risk of diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Examples of whole grains include brown rice, wild rice, barley, oatmeal, bulgur and barley, to name a few. Whole grains deliver fiber, vitamins, minerals, protein and antioxidants. Be sure to keep an eye on the sugar content, however. Scorpion Bay Grill offers a delicious Yachters Sandwich that incorporates whole grains and turkey.

Turkey

Turkey is rich in B-complex vitamins niacin, B6 and B12. It’s low-fat if you don’t eat the skin. It provides protein, fat, and a variety of vitamins and minerals. Turkey is generally lower in saturated fat than beef. Fat-free turkey is also the lowest calorie option for weight loss.

Fish

Fish is packed with protein, vitamins, and nutrients that can lower blood pressure and help reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The American Heart Association recommends eating fish at least two times per week as part of a healthy diet.

Shrimp

Shrimp is high in protein but also low in calories, carbs, and fat. Three ounces of shrimp contain 12 grams of protein and only 60 calories. Shrimp is rich in selenium, choline, and vitamin B12. Our grill offers Shrimp Ceviche, served in lettuce cups.
